Aleksandr Celiadin is a serial entrepreneur best known for establishing and developing GetJet Airlines. He operates a number of businesses in the aviation industry, and has offices in the UAE, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta and Cyprus. [1]
Early career[edit]
Alex Celiadin was born and raised in a middle-class family in Vilnius, Lithuania. His propensity for aviation began with his father, an aviation engineer.[2] Celiadin took up his first professional role as a Sales Executive at Aurela Airlines, Lithuania's first privately-owned airline, while studying.[2] In 2010, as Aurela Airlines faced challenges due to the global financial crisis,he and former Aurela colleagues took on a failing business. They co-founded Grand Cru Airlines in 2013, which paved the way for his own venture – GetJet Airlines.[1]
In 2016, Celiadin became a licensed FAA Commercial Pilot.[2]
Career[edit]
Celiadin established GetJet Airlines in 2016, and the company soon received its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC). Within the next three years, the company grew its fleet to 25 aircraft.[citation needed]
In 2017, Airhub Flight School was launched, now known as Airhub Aviation Training.[citation needed]
In 2019, he founded Airhub Aviation, a group of companies specialized in providing ACMI, charter, cargo, and aircraft management services.[3]
The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the aviation industry, and GetJet Airlines responded by modifying aircraft to support logistics and supply chains. Passenger planes were repurposed to transport protective masks and respirators.[4] GetJet Airlines transported the first COVID-19 vaccines to Lithuania. [4]
In 2020, GetJet was named the leader of Lithuania’s transport and logistics sector at the Verslo Zinios awards.[5]
In 2024, GetJet Airlines has a team of 900 aviation professionals and operates with three non-scheduled airline certificates in Lithuania, Latvia, and Malta.[6]
